Why is
implementing technology in the classroom so important?

Why do many
teachers struggle with the implementation?
As you can see, for the last century,
technology has been and is almost everywhere and is entangled in almost every
part of our lives. Now, we live in an environment where it affects how we
socialize, connect, shop, educate, play, and most importantly learn. As technology
increases, it’s only right to have technology within your classrooms. Yet there
are so many schools with limited access and some are even delaying this approaching
future for using technology in the classroom as the valuable learning tool it
is.
Which leads to why implementing technology in
the classroom is so important. If used
correctly, this tool will help students prepare for their future careers, which
will certainly include the use of wireless technology. Helping students prepare for this fast pace
transition will also prepare them for the real world as our country becomes progressively
more dependent on technology. Not only that, but a great way to reach diversity
and differentiation in learning styles and allow each student a chance to interact
more with their peers by collaborating. This gives the student the ability to
want to engage more and prevent apathy. Implementing more technology in the
classroom, students become more responsible. Implementing technology in the
classrooms will helps students take control of their own learning journey and
learn how to make their own decisions and to think for themselves.
Although it Is important to
implement technology in your instruction, many teachers struggle for several
reasons. Technology can be very intimidating, which allows the teacher to
startegically plan their lessons around the useful tool. Every year, studies
have shown that teachers face the challenge of helping students meet their
content standards and outcomes with limited time, limited resources, and
sometimes crowded classrooms, that they don’t have time to go about implmenting
it. Some teachers struggle to implement technology in their classrooms due to
limited funding which is a barrier, especially in low-income communities. I believe
that it is important to utilize this tool in the classrooms, although planning
may be an issue, it’s needed.
I wish I would have thought about this. Implementing technology in classrooms can definitely prepare students for future careers and keep them up to date on the latest advancements coming out every year. Granted this will raise expenses within schools, it will be very beneficial to those who can afford it, some would even say vital. No matter what, technology is here and this is only the beginning. Once more schools are able to invest in technology for classrooms I believe students will be able to graduate from elementary schools and colleges with more knowledge being retained than students today.
ReplyDeleteThis is a really great post. Technology is one of the major assets in our classrooms. This prepares our students to what is to come in the future. It allows both the teacher and student to stay current with today's society.Although more school funding may be needed to make sure that every school has updated technology that is current.We are the influence and the change in our school systems. I believe that we can achieve all goals with technology in our school systems.
ReplyDeleteHello Ebony, I hope all is well. I completely agree with your post. I do believe that technology could be intimidating to seasoned teachers. It could turn into a professional partnership between, younger and more seasoned teachers. The veteran teacher, could mentor newly licensed teacher. While newly licensed teachers could help them with technological advances. And as far as budgets are concerned, maybe we could collaborate with the community to help raise money for the school. Once a relationship with the community, school, and families are established, it will make a huge impact on the quality of education. Collaboration is a great way to work together to reach a common goal.

I read your post and i agree with you. we are all growing with technology and it sure does play a very important role in our lives. technology has made so many things easier and possible. Use of technology helps many students to learn faster and better also technology has made it easier to access electronic books in class. now students dont have to carry paper books around all the time. it has now also become easier for teachers to communicating and solve students issues much faster.
